Why Do I Need Renters Insurance
Many people do not fully understand the concept of renters insurance but just consider how many times you actually rent equipment like a car, motor home, house or even a boat. This is often done on the understanding that the insurance for their house or car for example will cover any equipment that is rented to them. Now many people believe that when they rent a property that they are automatically covered on the insurance of the landlord. The fact is, though, that you're not; a landlord's property insurance covers damage to the structure of the property itself. To cover the replacement costs of property that is damaged or stolen it is renters insurance that the occupants need unless they can afford to pay out of their own pocket. Tenants are also responsible for the condition of the property so if they cause a fire or flooding then they will have to pay this cost as well.Renter's insurance has another benefit which you may not have considered. Lawyers fees and medical costs will be the renters responsibility if someone is injured owing to negligence so this is a good way to prevent large costs being incurred. All medical fees and legal costs will be paid for you if necessary so it is obviously worth the monthly

outlay. Many people are under the misapprehension that their car insurance will cover a rental vehicle but this is rarely the case so any damage will come out of the renters pocket but it is worth checking your credit card insurance conditions as they may cover this. When you are in the situation where your regular insurance does not cover rental vehicles then collision damage waiver will provide a peace of mind for only a few dollars a day.Of course there are many more areas where rental insurance can be used even if you are renting sports equipment for a vacation. Some people believe that rental insurance is just another way to get more money out of someone renting something but remember that it does not belong to you and replacing it could be very, very expensive should something untoward happen. Obviously like any insurance policy, the amount will vary according to where you live, any extras you want to add and how much deductible you decide to arrange. Many companies offer renters insurance but don’t use the first one you find, take your time and search for companies on the Internet and if your finances will stand it, arrange for a large deductible if you want to keep the insurance premium to a minimum.
